- In 2018, a customer fell outside a grocery store because the store’s exit had cracked and pitted blacktop in violation of code. Only 58 years old at the time, the victim suffered a displaced, comminuted fracture of the distal radius of her non-dominant hand and a broken nose. Both injuries required surgery, and the victim developed severe consequential arthritis in the small joints of her non-dominant hand. She retained our firm to fight for a fair outcome. After years of hard work searching for, interviewing, and deposing witnesses, obtaining and reviewing key records, inspecting the scene, and consulting with experts, the case was tried before a jury in Erie County. At jury selection, the insurance company offered only $300,000 to settle the case. On November 21, 2025, at the end of one-week jury trial, Lawlor F. Quinlan III, Esq., obtained a verdict of $1,200,000 for the victim’s past and future pain and suffering. In fact, the jury awarded a few hundred thousand dollars more than Mr. Quinlan had requested.

Roach Quinlan Grable Attorney Lawlor Quinlan Obtains $5.3 Million for Widow and Family of Construction Worker
After an electrician was killed while working on a local construction project, the widow and family consulted with a local attorney who involved our firm to represent them in a lawsuit against the owner and construction manager on the project. Because the worker was deceased, we began with almost no information about how the incident occurred. But after five years of hard work searching for, interviewing, and deposing witnesses, reviewing documents, inspecting the equipment, and consulting with experts, Lawlor F. Quinlan III put together a case demonstrating that the electrician was killed because workers had been pressured to cut corners and violate safety rules. As a result, just before the trial in 2022, Quinlan was able to obtain a settlement from insurance carrier for the responsible parties of $5,300,000 for the family, including payment streams that will help provide for their financial needs for life.
